I began my career working within both the Health and Social Care and Education industries some 20 years ago. Initially I worked with children from deprived areas helping them to settle into mainstream schools, but soon realised that these young people needed more than State Education could offer. I then progressed and began writing educational materials and session plans to make their learning fascinating and fun. Not interested in keep writing the same topics over and over, I began dabbling with elements of bespoke handout materials, taking class based activities for disaffected and disruptive young people beyond the three R’s. They actively participated, not realising that they were in fact learning literacy and numeracy, just in a different context.

Further on in my career I achieved an Advanced Certificate in Education and carried on writing and delivering bespoke learning, while my roots were firmly set on Health & Social Care and Children’s learning, it was larger in scope than I had previously produced. I covered all aspects of human development, from the cradle to the grave, incorporating both Educational and Human development Theorists, putting their concepts and analogies into present day contexts. A genre I am very proud to say gave me the start in business. But it was also these that encouraged me to try something different and was the bridge from one part of my career to another.
